Take set time blocks to be available for quicker-response chats (non-emergency).
Help reduce wait time when someone needs to talk sooner.
Volunteer Mentor / Long-Term Check-In Buddy
Provide recurring weekly/biweekly check-ins for members who want consistent support.
Focus on accountability, connection, and stability (not therapy).
Intake & Matching Assistant
Help review new member profiles (based on defined fields) and route them to the right peer categories.
Maintain confidentiality and follow data-handling rules.
Resource Navigator (Local + National)
Build and maintain a vetted directory of resources: counseling options, crisis lines, VA resources, nonprofit partners, spouse support, housing, employment, etc.
Verify contact info, eligibility requirements, and referral pathways.
Crisis Escalation Support Volunteer (Non-Clinical)
Trained role that supports the escalation process when a situation appears urgent.
Assist with contacting emergency services per policy and documenting the event properly (no “counseling,” just protocol support).
Volunteer Screening & Onboarding Team
Assist with volunteer applications, interview scheduling, reference checks, and basic verification steps.
Ensure volunteers meet standards before joining peer-support roles.
Training Facilitator / Roleplay Coach
Run onboarding training sessions (active listening, boundaries, mandatory reporting, de-escalation basics, app procedures).
Lead scenario practice and refreshers.
Community Event Volunteer
Support in-person gatherings (check-in tables, set-up/tear-down, hydration stations, crowd flow, info booths).
Help create safe, welcoming spaces for connection.
Outreach & Partnerships Volunteer
Contact local agencies, veteran groups, fire/EMS/police organizations, and spouse networks to build partnerships.
Coordinate presentations, flyers, and community introductions.
Fundraising & Development Volunteer
Assist with donor outreach, sponsorship packets, grant research, and fundraising campaigns.
Support events like raffles, charity runs, and online drives.
Marketing & Social Media Volunteer
Create posts, reels, community spotlights, volunteer highlights, and event promotion.
Help maintain consistent messaging aligned with the mission.
Content Writer / Story Collector
Interview community members (with consent) and create impact stories, newsletters, blog posts, and press releases.
Focus on dignity, privacy, and mission-forward storytelling.
Administrative Support Volunteer
Help with email responses, scheduling, documentation, meeting notes, and organizing internal SOPs.
Keep operations running smoothly behind the scenes.
Tech & App Support Volunteer
Assist with QA testing, bug reporting, user support tickets, and basic troubleshooting guides.

Support audits of what data is collected/stored, access controls, and retention practices.
